Howzit. I play to the middle of the green, and I treat your data the same way: safe and boring. Here's the full route, hole by hole.
Grab a cold drink. Here's the gist.
- Browsing here: no ad cookies, no trackers, no analytics.
- Hotmart handles payment. Card numbers don't come my way.
- Nobody buys your details from me. I don't sell or rent them.
- A single click silences any email from me.
- Want your data seen, fixed or deleted? Email [email protected].
Hole one: who I am
Who is on the other end of this site?
Pieter van Wyk Golf. That's the brand name on the site, the books and the membership.
Any question, any time: [email protected].
Walking in
Do you follow me around while I browse?
Not a chance. You don't make an account, and there's no sign-up form here.
I use no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no analytics. No Google or Facebook trackers either.
Cloudflare hosts the pages. It processes your IP address to get the pages to you and keep them protected.
Arriving from a video
What do you record when I follow a video or QR link?
The time, the video or link, and the page you landed on. Also your country.
And a scrambled code made from your IP address. The IP address isn't stored, and nobody can turn the code back into it. It shows me which videos help.
A tiny cookie keeps, for 30 days, which version of the book page you saw. Come back and it's the same page. That's the site's only cookie. Hotmart's checkout uses its own cookies, under Hotmart's own policy.
Stopping short at checkout
I started a checkout and didn't finish. Now what?
Hotmart may hand me your name and email. Same if the payment failed.
I might send you two emails at most, to remind you. One click stops them, and if you bought already, I stay quiet.
Paying for a book
When I pay, what lands on your side?
Hotmart is the one collecting your name, email, billing and payment details. I never see card numbers.
Hotmart shares with me your email, what you bought, the price, your country and which video or link you came from.
My book order records hold a scrambled email, not the real one.
Becoming a member
What do members' records contain?
Name, email, country and time zone. Your membership status and dates. And which video or link sent you. Hotmart passes these to me.
They're for sending your letters. The letters tell me if they got delivered and which links you clicked.
Writing to me
What happens to an email I send you?
Your message and email address are kept so I can reply.
After 90 days the full raw copy is deleted. I keep the text of the message, so our chat can carry on.
A little AI help
Does AI read my letters to you?
An AI writing assistant may help me draft replies, so you hear back quicker.
That's the only thing your message is used for there.
Why I need it
What do you do with all of it?
Send your books and letters. Answer your questions. Process refunds. Learn which videos help.
Sometimes, mention other books from this channel. There's an unsubscribe link in every email.
The services I lean on
Who else gets to handle my data?
Hotmart takes payments, delivers the books and bills the membership. Resend sends out my emails. Cloudflare is where the site lives, where my data is stored and where email to me arrives.
Every one of them has its own privacy policy.
No selling, ever
Do you sell my email to anyone?
No. Your personal information is never sold or rented, and never shared for advertising.
Keeping, and for how long
How long does my information stay with you?
Membership data stays while you're a member and until you ask me to delete it.
Once you unsubscribe, all that's left is a scrambled “do not email” note. It makes sure you're never emailed again.
Order records are held as long as the law requires.
You're in charge
Can I stop the emails or have my data deleted?
Yes. Click the one-click unsubscribe link in any email, or reply “unsubscribe”.
Write to [email protected] to see, correct or delete your data. You'll get an answer within 30 days.
It doesn't matter where in the US you live. California counts too. Hotmart, for its part, keeps its own purchase records as required by law.
For grown-ups
Do you collect data on kids?
The books and the membership are made for adults. Data from children under 13 is never knowingly collected.
Last hole: changes
What if this page gets updated?
Then the page changes and so does the “Last updated” date.
